How we started
Although the IPPTO has been in existence within the confines of Centre for Innovation, it was however upgraded as a Directorate here in the University of Nigeria Nsukka in November 2016 with the appointment of a Director by the initiative of the Vice-Chancellor. This is in keeping with the ideals of NOTAP, and as obtains in other Universities.

The IPTTO of the University of Nigeria Nsukka is to become a foremost resourceful institutional intellectual property manager with a proven track record of large, rewarding intellectual properties portfolio harnessed from the university, and a virile bridge for fostering strong university-industry alliance for mutual socioeconomic benefits.
Our Mission
Our mission is to promote qualitative original research through sensitization, to foster strong collaboration between university and industry, provide patents registration and acquisition service, promote robust patent policy and drive commercialization of products of patents and innovations for sound economic rewards.
